Solar Energy Programme

The Ministry of The Environment is launching a Solar Energy Pilot Program to investigate the use of solar energy in The Bahamas. Under this programme, The Ministry is providing 100 Solar Water Heaters and 33 Solar Electricity (PV) Systems to eligible participants at no cost for the equipment, however, participants will be required to cover the cost of installation.

 

Interested persons will be required to complete an entry form, which can be downloaded here or collected at any of these participating banks:

  • Bank of The Bahamas
  • First Caribbean International Bank
  • Royal Bank
  • Scotiabank

Only one system will be provided per household. All islands will be included.  Selected participants will be required to pay a $250 (non-refundable) charge for inspection to determine suitability.
 
To enter:
·         Fill out an entry form
·         include whether you are entering to receive a solar water heater, or a PV system, or both
·         Attach a receipt of your electricity bill
·         Drop off form to a participating bank

Deadline for submission of entry forms is January 7th, 2012,
